In the first half, our team struggled to settle down and and our opponents had several shots at goal. Centre Back Preston did well to hold the defensive line and the team managed to survive the onslaught. At around the half hour mark, Philemon did well to smash a shot in, and was denied by the cross bar. Our opponent then earned a penalty following a late last ditch challenge. This time, the cross bar came to our rescue and the rebound shot was ruled offside. Substitute Jacob made an instant impact, displaying good footwork and technique. The first half then ended with a goalless draw.
The start of the second half was similar to that of our first half, with our team finding it difficult to settle down. We had few shots at goal, and possession mainly belonged to our opponents. Our opponent then broke the deadlock with a cross from the left flank which the striker finished. Our team responded with a good offensive move and Philemon managed to get a shot in from a tight angle. Unfortunately, the opponent's 12th man came into play again and Philemon's shot smashed against the upright. Our opponent then doubled their lead when their left winger made a good run down the flank and cut in to the box to finish into the bottom right hand corner. Chee Choong then tried to halve the deficit but his shot went wide. Central midfielder Hafiz displayed amazing work rate and tenacity, constantly running and putting in crunching tackles throughout the duration of the game. The game then ended with the scoreline of 2-0, the loss largely because most of the players were playing an individual game.
