But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it;or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 1 Corinthian 12:24-26
Hey guys this is a message that i got from church a few weeks back and i felt it was pretty appropriate. Although the verse talks about the body of Christ and teaches us how a church should grow towards, i felt it was appropriate for our team as well as every member in the squad makes up one body with one aim, fighting for one main purpose and that is to bring glory to our School and God.
This is what was said in my church service by my pastor as he drew a comparison between a team and a church:
" If your team members believe in the goals of the team and begin to develop genuine trust in one another, they will be in a position to demonstrate true teamwork. Notice that i mention the team members will be in a position to demonstrate true teamwork. That does not necessarily mean they will do it."
For there to be teamwork, several things must happen. First, team members must genuinely believe that the value of the team's success is greater than the value of their own individual interests. Second, personal sacrifice must be encouraged and then rewarded- by the team leader and the other members of the team. As this happens, the people will identify themselves more and more with the team, and they will recognize that individualism wins trophies, but teamwork wins championships!
I hope this message does impact you at least a bit but that is just my personal thought. I just want you guys to believe that nothing is impossible with God and we may be the underdogs but the theory of competition did not say that the strongest cant get their asses kick! So lets work towards our goal and get some championships!
Jake
